Ericsson continues to branch out and establish a strong presence throughout the world. The next area that the infrastructure vendor has made its own is in Asia Pacific. This region will be seeing a large amount of LTE deployments courtesy of Ericsson.
The newest contract will allow them to supply the majority of FarEasTone's LTE network, which includes hardware, software, and support services. In addition, this will cover network optimization and the rollout of a RAN and core network for 3G and 4G technologies nationwide. Deployment of the network will be enhanced by utilizing 700 MHz and 1800 MHz frequencies. The network will offer customer data downlink rates of up to 150 Mbps and uplinks of up to 50 Mbps.
This is reflective of what is occurring globally. Everybody has been trying to upgrade their networks while manufacturers are trying to vie for the attention of markets. However, due to the recent inactivity in Europe, the Asian region becomes an even more attractive area for infrastructure providers. Ericsson has been one of the most successful companies at being trusted by networks to roll out their technology.
