Sprint's Attack on Verizon and AT&T

Sprint plans on releasing a promotion this December that offers to reduce a customers' phone bill in half only if they switch from AT&T or Verizon. Sprint has offered customers a similar plan to this one in the past. Not only will Sprint cut the cost of the bill, they are also willing to pay up to $350 to cover any termination fees when leaving your current carrier.

 Sprint's “attack” on the top 2 largest carriers showed how urgently they needed to regain themselves after the merger of Sprint and T-Mobile fell through. If the 2 companies were to combine, Sprint/ T-Mobile would have had a significantly greater amount of customers and would have had more income to make vital upgrades for their network. This would allow them to be in real competition with the leading carriers.

Besides Sprint, T-Mobile has been making efforts to undercut Verizon and AT&T. T-Mobile has offers for free international data and an end to long contracts. This is threatening the larger carriers, such as Verizon and AT&T. Sprint and T-Mobile have gone after each other over pricing, as well.
