In the wake of the Sprint/T-Mobile breakdown, Sprint is attempting to make some changes. It started with the appointment of Marcelo Claure as CEO and it is expanding to a new “Sprint Family Share Pack” that will replace the “Framily Plan”.
The plan provides 20GB of data at $100/month for up to 10 lines but can begin as low as 600MB of data for $20. On the flipside, customers can purchase as much as 60GB of data for $225. It will also cost a fee of $25 per line to be added to the plan. Tablets and other mobile broadband devices can be added to the family plan as well but require a $20 per month fee.
“With this new promotion, we're back in the game," CEO Marcelo Claure said. "I want to make sure every person in this company contributes to the future success of Sprint. ... We need to get better every day."
After seeing the success of T-Mobile’s Uncarrier plan, Sprint felt the urgency of making an impact to retain customers. Due to network expansion issues, over 12 million customers have switched away from Sprint in the past 6 years. They are hoping that this new family plan will revitalize their customer base and help it grow as well.
