NSN and China Mobile make $970M Deal

Many leading manufacturers like Nokia Networks have a global presence that helps them maintain a successful business. China Mobile can be added to the list of agreements that NSN have made to improve their 4G wireless rollout. Along with this service, this $970 million deal has NSN providing a full spectrum of services such as Evolved Packet Core and GSM wireless networking equipment, core application platforms, OSS, and software. This deal is a perfect marriage between the 2 companies. China Mobile is known as one of the largest wireless operators in the world with over 500,000 4G base stations deployed. Meanwhile, NSN has delivered nearly half of all commercial LTE networks around the world and is the only vendor to have installed LTE in all six continents. Nokia Networks has become a reliable partner for China Mobile because of their focus in network infrastructure software, hardware and services. "We have been closely cooperating throughout the past years to jointly commercialize and globalize TD-LTE, and this agreement will further accelerate 4G TD-LTE development in China as well as worldwide,” said Markus Borchert, regional president of NSN in China.
