DAS Progresses Ram’s Edward Jones Dome

The St. Louis Rams have recently joined the movement to improve the wireless networks of NFL venues around the country. Their home field, the Edward Jones Dome, deployed a massive amount of DAS equipment throughout the stadium to accommodate the 67,224 capacity crowd that can fill the venue. The agreement to enhance the quality of wireless network service was made with Verizon and Mobilitie. Verizon installed numerous DAS antennas throughout the stadium to boost network capacity and strength. The deployment was so effective that their network was able to maintain 2.5 times more traffic during their October 13^th Monday Night football game than any previous game. Not only is DAS an effective solution, these units are also well hidden so that the antennas are hardly noticeable. This improvement does not only serve for football games but any concerts, competitions, or other events that may be held at the Edward Jones Dome. The Ram’s went with two solid companies for serving their demand requirements. Verizon has been working to expand 4G LTE throughout Missouri since 2010 and has recently rolled out XLTE to meet growing capacity concerns. Meanwhile, Mobilitie has established themselves as a leader in wireless infrastructure by deploying DAS systems for venues in all major sports at stadium and arenas across the country. The improvements came just in time for a huge upset victory for the Rams defeating the World Champion Seattle Seahawks on October 19th.
