Each month, Launch 3 Telecom will spotlight one of our many manufacturers.
November’s manufacturer is: RFS
RFS, which stands for Radio Frequency Systems, has a long history in cable, antenna, and cellular innovation. They are an international manufacturer of cable, antenna systems, and active/passive RF conditioning modules in order to deliver comprehensive solutions for wireless infrastructure.
Originally named the Hackethal Wire Company, the roots of the company begin in 1900 when Louis Hackethal patented the insulated electric cable. Over time, the company would play a significant role in history by building the engine manifold for the plane Charles Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris, known as the Spirit of St. Louis.
By the 1950s, now known as American Tube Bending, the company was making large strides in the cable industry. Their reputation for innovation became ever more renown with the rollout of the first RF power cable with a corrugated steel outer conductor and the air dielectric cable (Flexwell). The 50s also saw a partnership with CPC in order to build high-gain base station.
As the decades moved forward, the company produced the first corrugated elliptical waveguide (Flexwell), the first corrugated seam-welded foam dielectric cable (Cellflex), and the first smooth wall radiating coaxial cable (Radiaflex). The new RFS Group was eventually formed through the combination of Kabelmetal, Cablewave Systems, and Celware RF. By 1999, RFS became a separate company under the Alcatel family.
Today, RFS has over 1,800 employees at 8 facilities and 5 R&D centers throughout the world. They support thousands of customers that are OEMs, distributors, system integrators, operators/installers in broadcast, wireless communications, land-mobile and microwave market sector. RFS’s focus is currently focused in cable, base station subsystem, diplexer and parabolic antennas. RFS remains innovative by providing the first coaxial cable with an aluminum outer conductor (Cellflex Lite) and a hybrid feeder cabling solution for remote radio heads (Hybriflex). They also provide equipment for cell-based mobile communications, in-building, in-tunnels, television & radio, radio-link networks, LMR/PMR and HF & defense.
Launch 3 Telecom offers a variety of equipment manufactured by RFS. You can acquire RFS antennas such as the Flat Panel Microwave Antenna, LTE Multi-Band Antennas,Trunkline Microwave Antennas, and the CompactLine Microwave Antenna.
