Sweden has developed one of the top telecommunication companies in the world, Ericsson. Year after year they succeed in improving the world’s latest technology. Ericsson works with a large variety of equipment in hope to better enhance companies all over the world. One of the agreements they are making this year is a contract with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. This deal allows 180 of both Upper and Middle Egypt’s electricity stations to make use of Ericsson’s technology.
Egypt has been having issues with power saving. They discovered that the many electricity stations they have are wasting energy. Ericsson and the Egyptian Ministry are now working together on a project that will help to conserve energy and balance out Egypt’s stations to better distribute power. Specifically, Egypt has been wasting 8-9% of its power per year. This caused a major loss of 4.8bn in just this year.
Egypt’s plan was to limit their electricity use by nearly 20% in the coming year. Ericsson has a very high reputation around the world as a telecommunications company, which is why it was a great choice for Egypt as they further their conservation technology for the future. Ericsson is teaming up with Egyptian companies to build and repair towers in order to better control their networks.
