Launch 3 Telecom’s very own Lee Morreale is taking a stance against Prostate Cancer by participating in “Movember”. For the full 30 days of November, Lee will be doing his best Burt Reynolds impression by growing a full moustache to raise money for the cause. In addition, Launch 3 Telecom will be matching the total donations raised by Lee’s campaign.
Unlike “No-Shave November”, Movember asks its participants to only leave their upper lip untouched. The goal is not to pull off this look as well as Hulk Hogan or Rollie Fingers, but rather to encourage the conversation about men’s health and raise funds to prevent male diseases. According to Lee, “Shouldn’t everybody be pro-men’s health and Anti-Cancer? So donate to help the cause”.
The origins of Movember started in 1999 when a group of South Australian men got publicity for growing moustaches for charity. However, the tradition did not become popular until 2003. Since 2007, the campaign has raised $18.2 million for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Many celebrities have joined in the movement in previous years such as Justin Beiber, Tom Hanks, the entire Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators, and many more.
