Two big players in the telecom industry have recently announced how small cells will positively boost their company in various ways.  Alcatel-Lucent and Towerstream Corporation have been working together to create a small cell wireless infrastructure, allowing Alcatel-Lucent to include Towerstream in its Metro Cell Express Site Certification program.  This deal will enhance the company’s potential to rise within the industry. Small cells are becoming the more prevalent choice for numerous companies.  They provide better quality signals using less power.  Since small cells are low-powered, they can reduce interference as well as directly improve indoor cell service and reception for both rural and urban demographics. Not only are small cells more efficient, but also they are environmentally friendly.  Large cell towers are not economical compared to the technology and efficiency of wireless small cells.  They tend to be a controversial subject for people from all forms of life such as local citizens, construction workers, and town board members. The issues they bring up make many ideal locations for improved service inaccessible.
