 A relatively new company to the telecom industry, Aviat Networks is an American-based Microwave Specialist that burst on the scene in 2007. This company has established themselves as a worldwide provider of microwave networking equipment. It was originally founded in a merger of Harris Corporation’s Microwave Division and Stratex Networks. It later changed its name to Aviat Networks in 2010 and currently has over 40 different locations.

Aviat Networks has taken the biggest pride in their Microwave innovations. They were the first in the industry to roll out the 38 GHz 128QAM OC3 radio, the split-munt microwave radio, the embedded management system, and the compact hybrid nodal microwave platform. Although best known for equipment dedicated to microwave backhaul, Aviat transformed and expanded its expertise into advanced IP wireless network solutions.  They developed a complete portfolio of migration solutions and lifecycle services. This transition improved them on a widespread level in order to help carriers make a transition of their own. At a time where LTE and IP are being demanded and are becoming necessary, Aviat Networks offered their expertise as a way to help carriers and operators enable regions with the greatest demand for wireless broadband such as rural areas. In addition, the have a portfolio of products and services that focuses on Smart Utility Networks, Private Networks, Public Safety/Government Agencies, and LTE Mobile Backhaul. Aviat Networks has made an impact on customers with its global reach. They have helped supply India with their first urban mobile WiMAX network while building out Canadian backhaul for improving their HSPA network. Furthermore, they addressed the Baltic Region by implementing their first GSM-R. Aviat Networks is trying to improve the future of broadband.
